The Federal government has extended the closure of Nigeria’s airspace and airports dashing the hopes of many Nigerians that wants to come back home soon.
The closure is for an additional two weeks.
This is coming on the heels of the increase in the number of confirmed coronavirus cases in Nigeria with the latest figure revealed by the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) which was 627.
The Minister of Aviation, Hadi Sirika, made this disclosure today on Twitter, saying, “Covid-19. As a result of the extension on lockdown by Mr President it is no longer possible for us to open our airspace and airports for normal operations by the 23rd April, 2020. They will remain closed for a further 2 weeks.
“This subject to review as appropriate, please”.
