The Founder of Sotitobire Praising Chapel, Akure, Ondo State, Prophet Babatunde Alfa and 5 others, have been sentenced to life imprisonment over the disappearance of one year old Gold Kolawole in the church last year
Justice Olusegun Odusola of the Ondo state High Court in Akure convicted the defendants having found them guilty of two count charge of kidnapping, and aiding and abetting to kidnap based on the circumstancial evidence presented by the prosecution.
The judge condemns attempt by the defence to link Esther Kolawole with the disappearance of Gold Kolawole, during the case while declaring the 7th defendant, Peter Anjorin not guilty of count 3 which is destruction of evidence and is hereby set free
He also condemned in strong terms the complicity, compromise, and lackadaisical attitude of the Ondo state police command after Gold got missing which also led to the burning of Sotitobire Church.
Other defendants jailed include Omodara Olayinka, Margaret Oyebola ,Grace Ogunjobi, Egunjobi Motunrayo and Esther Kayode.
