Congregation, family members and attendees could not hold back tears at the Funeral Mass held today June 17, 2022, for victims of the terror attack at St Francis Catholic Church, Owo, Ondo State.
No fewer than 40 congregants were gunned down by the terrorists who stormed the Church on Sunday, June 5, 2022.
After the solemn funeral mass was completed, some families of the victims took the remains of their loved ones for burial in the town.
The rest were taken to the new cemetery provided by the Ondo State Government at Emure Ile Road in Owo.
Ondo State Governor, Oluwarotimi Akeredolu, and a former governor of the state, Olusegun Mimiko, were among the dignitaries present at the mass.
Some clergymen, including Bishop Jude Arogundade of Ondo Catholic Diocese and Bishop Matthew Kukah of the Catholic Diocese of Sokoto, were also in attendance.
