Governor Seyi Makinde of Oyo State today commissioned the additional Police Mobile Force (PMF) Squadron, which has commenced operations at Ago-Are in the Oke-Ogun Area.
The Governor also donated some JAC trucks to the unit for effective policing of Oke Ogun Zone, promising further support that the unit may need to carry out their duties.
Speaking, during the commissioning, the governor stated, “We decided that the new squadron should be based in Oke-Ogun due to its vast size and the fact that it shares international borders with the Republic of Benin. I thank the Inspector-General of Police, Mohammed Adamu for acceding to our request for the additional unit, and charge the officers to carry out their duties efficiently. Our administration remains committed to deploying the state’s resources to secure the lives and properties of the people of Oyo State”.
In another development, the governor also commissioned a model school, Anwar-Ul-Islam Basic School, Ipapo in Itesiwaju Local Government Area.
According to the governor, the school is one of 22 model schools completed by his administration in the past one year.
