Oyo State Governor, Engr. Seyi Makinde has approved the termination of appointment of his Special Assistant(Digital Media), Mr. Muritala Olajide Adigun, also known as Adigun Ibadan.
The letter of termination of appointment dated March 27, 2020, and signed by Olubamiwo Adeosun, Secretary to the State government, did not state Adigun’s offence.
However, it may be a fall out of Adigun’s posting of what was termed misleading information on his Facebook page, where he posted pictures of fumigation machines belonging to the Lagos State government, which he claimed was for Oyo State.
Though, he later retracted the information on his Facebook page and apologised for the misleading information, apparently, the government did not accept his apology.
The termination of appointment took immediate effect, and the letter conveyed the state government’s appreciation for Adigun’s contribution within the short time his appointment lasted.
It will be recalled that on February 7, 2020, Governor Makinde approved the appointments of Engr. Ahmed Najeem Omirinde, Mr. Kehinde Ogunsanya and Mr. Muritala Olajide Adigun as Chairman, Rural Water Supply and Sanitation Agency, Senior Special Assistant on Economic Planning and Special Assistant on Digital Media respectively.
