Oyo State Governor, Engr. Seyi Makinde has handed over the Pacesetter Quarry and Asphalt Plant, Ijaiye to a private company, Carboncor Road Technology Ltd as concessionaires in a public-private partnership arrangement with the Oyo State Government.
Revealing this today, the Governor stated that the reason for going the way of PPP is to make the quarry a revenue generating plant for the state, not a liability.
He said, “This previously moribund quarry and asphalt plant which we visited on July 3, 2019, will now generate funds for the government and the concessionaire, create jobs for our people and also, produce the asphalt we need for road projects in the state”.
