According to the letter, the governor stated, “Senator Abiola Ajimobi, the immediate past Governor, lived a life of service to humanity and has contributed immensely to the socio-economic development of Oyo State in particular and Nigeria in general. I have no doubt he will be missed by all and sundry”.

“As we mourn his passage, let us take solace in the righteous life he lived and his legacies which we shall fondly remember. May God Almighty give members of the family the fortitude to bear the irreparable loss. Once again, please accept our heart-felt condolences”, he concluded.
Recall that Mrs Florence Ajimobi had accused Makinde and his cabinet members of failure to identify with her and other members of Ajimobi’s family after the death of the erstwhile governor.
She said that a week after the death of her husband, the state government did not call or send her a message to commiserate with the family saying, “Governor Makinde never called me; I don’t know I have to send an official letter to the government to announce that my husband was ill”.
