Oyo State Governor, Engr. Seyi Makinde, has officially presented the instruments of office to Oba Samuel Adegbola as the Eleruwa of Eruwaland in Ibarapa East Local Government Area.
The presentation ceremony took place at the Executive Chamber, Secretariat, Agodi, Ibadan.

Speaking at the event, Makinde stated that Oba Adegbola’s appointment was approved based on the recommendation of the Eruwa kingmakers to restore the town’s path to development.
Reaffirming his administration’s commitment to non-interference in traditional affairs, the governor urged aggrieved parties to refrain from legal battles and instead focus on unity.
He also highlighted his efforts to resolve the chieftaincy dispute since 2019, emphasising the crucial role of traditional rulers in maintaining security and preserving cultural heritage.

In his acceptance speech, Oba Adegbola pledged to foster reconciliation among the people of Eruwa and collaborate with other traditional rulers for the progress of the state.
The Eleruwa stool had remained vacant since Oba Adegbola, who was first installed in 1998, was deposed by the Supreme Court of Nigeria on November 29, 2019.
