The rift between Governor Godwin Obaseki of Edo State and his impeached deputy, Philip Obaseki has been scaled up with the governor ordering the demolition of the security post of the private house of the embattled Shaibu.
The demolition exercise was carried out yesterday amidst tight security without notification by a team from the government house, Benin and Edo Ministry of Roads and Bridges.
The security post is by the Benin Golf Course in the Government Reservation Area (GRA).
With this development, Obaseki is fully prepared to use his office to fight his ex-deputy to a standstill.
According to one of the family members of the former deputy governor, the demolition team stated, “They were sent from the government house to demolish part of the residence of the deputy governor. No notice was given. The governor is proud to do what he is doing.”
