The indications are very strong that Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu of Lagos State and his Oyo State Counterpart, Engr Seyi Makinde are coasting home to victory as they maintained the early lead in the results of the 2023 governorship and State Assembly so far released.
The two governors are seeking re-election for the second term in office in the 2023 governorship election.
Among the remarkable governorship results in Oyo State is Makinde winning Bayo Adelabu, the governorship candidate of Accord Party at his polling unit.
In the Adelabu polling unit, Makinde scored 60 votes, Adelabu scored 38 votes and Teslim Folarin scored 22 votes.
Also, the former governor of Oyo State, Senator Rashidi Ladoja, Otun Olubadan of Ibadanland, failed to deliver polling unit 17, ward 10, Ibadan North Local Government to his preferred candidate, Folarin as Makinde scored 98 votes in the unit while Folarin scored 35 votes
However, supporters of the two governors have rolled out the drum in the two states.
