Lagos State governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, on Friday, September 10, 2021, signed into law the State VAT Bill as passed by the House of Assembly.
The House of Assembly yesterday sent a copy of the bill for Governor Sanwo-Olu’s assent after passing the bill.
The state Commissioner for Information and Strategy, Gbenga Omotoso, in a statement on Friday, said the governor signed the “bill for a law to impose and charge VAT on certain goods and services” after returning from an official trip.
“The Governor signed the bill for a law to impose and charge VAT on certain goods and services at about 11. 45am today, after returning from an official trip to Abuja. By this act, the Bill has now become a Law,” the statement read.
