Gunmen suspected to be kidnappers, who were dressed in military uniforms, reportedly attacked some commuters on the Lagos-Ibadan expressway, on Tuesday.
This is coming less than 14 days after gunmen attacked motorists along the Lagos-Ibadan expressway, kidnapping several people, including a former Deputy Vice Chancellor of the University of Ibadan, Professor Adigun Agbaje
It was gathered that the gunmen attacked an 18-passenger bus, before the Sagamu Interchange en route Lagos, riddling the vehicle with bullets in a bid to force the driver to stop, however, the brave driver maneuvered the bus to safety.
In the viral video, the driver was seen lamenting, while at the same time thanking God for saving their lives. one person was injured during the attack, but the remaining passengers were unhurt.
“The kidnappers trooped out from the bush. They were in military uniforms and started shooting sporadically at motorists.
“We were lucky to escape them but our vehicle had been riddled with bullets. Police officers arrived at the scene. Nigerians should please be safe when taking that route,” he added.
It would be recalled that one police officer was killed and several motorists abducted when gunmen struck at Dominion University axis, along the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway on October 29, 2022.
The travellers were forced to make a detour as gunmen took over the road, forcing the people to abandon their vehicles while scampering for safety.
Meanwhile one of the victims of the attack, Temitope Enitan Fatunmbi, who fell to the bullets of kidnappers, was laid to rest at the RCCG, Messiah’s Praise Sanctuary, Redemption Camp along the same expressway on Tuesday.
