The Chairperson of the House of Representatives Committee on Diaspora Affairs, Hon. Tolulope Akande-Sadipe, representing Oluyole Local Government Federal Constituency, has moved a motion on the floor of the House of Representatives on the need for urgent intervention on the numerous kidnapping incidents and farm destruction in Oluyole Local Government of Oyo State.
This became necessary as a lot of farmers have abandoned their farms as a result of the nefarious and criminal activities of some herdsmen, bandits and kidnappers in the state.
To this end, Hon. Akande-Sadipe prayed the House to:
*Urge the Federal Government to deploy security personnel to the aforementioned areas of Oyo state as a matter of importance.
*Mandate the urgent intervention of the Federal Government on a lasting solution to the immeasurable kidnappings in the country.
*Urge the Federal Government to create a compensation programme for the kidnapped victims, affected families who have lost loved ones, and farmers who have lost their source of livelihood in the process of this ongoing menace we face as a nation.
*Mandate the Police force to formulate strategies to destabilize these criminal operations, establish more police presence within the state and country, rescue abductees and apprehend the abductors.
