A Nollywood Actress, Doris Simeon, who has relocated to the United States of America (USA), after her marriage to a movie producer, Daniel Ademinokan has revealed that she is in a relationship with a man, whose identity she was not ready to reveal.
She noted that people are not aware of her romantic affair because she keeps it out of the public space.
According to her, “Many men enter my DM to ask if I am available for a relationship or not but one is getting wiser as one is growing up. Many people who are very close to me know that I don’t like to talk about my private life. That I don’t post it doesn’t say that I don’t have a man in my life. A man is in my life, don’t think about it.”
Speaking with Kunle Afod, Doris, who now lives in Upper Marlboro, Maryland, USA, also revealed why she relocated to USA, saying that she relocated in 2018 because she wanted to stay closer to her son, David who has been living with his father in US.
Noting that she had not visited Nigeria since she left in 2018, she said that she is missing Nigeria adding, “Things that I miss about Nigeria are the street foods like roasted yam, corn, beans and rice, “akara”, and “dundu”. I miss my friends and family. I miss movie locations.”
She pointed out that living in the USA has its challenges, saying that lazy individuals cannot live in the Western world.
She said that she had done many jobs to survive in the USA stating, “It is not easy starting all over in the USA. Besides, here you have to be strong. You can’t be lazy if you don’t want to go hungry and allow cold weather to kill you. Many Nigerians who have been in the USA for about 50 years have not found it easy because you can’t avoid some bills and no one will give you money as a gift so you have to work. if you don’t work, you will not be able to pay your bills.”
According to her, she has worked as a delivery lady. “I did the delivery job, pick up and drop off, and personal shopper, I do crochet and hairdressing. Now, I work with Hearts and Homes for Youth, a care home for ex-convicts. It is like a social worker for the ex-convicts.”
