A notable Nigerian legal luminary, Chief Niyi Akintola, (SAN), has confirmed his intention to contest the 2023 governorship election under the All Progressive Congress (APC), in Oyo State.
Akintola stated this in Ibadan, capital of Oyo State at a media chat organised by the South West West Group of Online Publishers (SWETGO).
He said that if God spears his life, he would surely contest the next governorship contest.
Akintola, who noted that he had paid his dues in politics and in Oyo State, pointed out that he would do all that is needed to ensure that the APC governorship candidate emerges through democratic process.
He added that he would not step down for any aspirant in 2023.
