The Management of the Ibadan Electricity Distribution Company (IBEDC) has apologised to their customers over the epileptic power supply being experienced across Oyo, Ogun, Osun and Kwara States.
This was contained in a statement dated June 8, 2022, titled, “Drop in Power Supply Across Our Franchise”.
The statement reads in part:
“Kindly be notified that the drop in electricity supply currently being experienced is as a result of the decline in allocation to our franchise area.
“In recent time, average daily power allocation to IBEDC has further dropped to 273.1 megawatts (MW) compared to 340.8MW received late May which is also a far cry from the over 750MW average daily power expected by IBEDC for distribution across our franchise (Oyo, Ogun, Osun & Kwara).
“The dip in electricity generation, which has in turn affected our allocation, has been attributed to the partial shut down of critical gas processing equipment.
“Kindly bear with us as we work with stakeholders in the electricity value chain on a sustainable resolution.
“We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience and appeal for your understanding”.
