A Marketing Communication Expert and Managing Director of Sodium Group, Abisoye Fagade, has indicated his intention to contest the 2023 governorship election in Oyo State.
Abisoye, who is also a founder of Abisoye Fagade Foundation, during an interaction with newsmen in Ibadan, on Monday, August 7, 2020, said that he would challenge Governor Seyi Makinde in the next governorship race, if he chooses to run for a second term in office.
His words, “I am not too young to challenge Governor Seyi Makinde. I must say that Oyo State deserve the best. We will not continue to fold our hands and see things getting bad. We will not say that we will run away from politics because they say that it is dirty. Somebody needs to come and make it clean. Somebody needs to come and fix things. I am very sure that one day, I will be the governor of Oyo State”.
Fagade, who had once contested for the governorship position of the state under the Alliance for Democracy (AD), noted that he did not win because it was believed at the time that he was too young for the position.
According to him, though, he is not holding any political office, he has been touching lives of the less privileged in various forms, adding that he has been assisting small scale business owners to grow their businesses.
According to information obtained online, Fagade was born on March 10, 1974. He attended Queen of Apostle Primary school Oluyoro, Ibadan, and Lagelu Grammar School, Agugu, Ibadan. In 1991, he studied Demography and Social Statistics at Obafemi Awolowo University and graduated in 1998. He hails from Ibadan, Lagelu Local Government, Oyo State.
