The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has declared the incumbent Governor of Edo State, Godwin Obaseki of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), as the winner of the 2020 Edo State Governorship election, which was conducted on Saturday September 19, 2020.
Obaseki, who polled 307,995 votes, defeated his closest rival, Pastor Osagie Ize-Iyamu of the All Progressives Congress (APC), who polled 223,619 votes.
INEC’s Returning Officer, Prof. Akpofure Rim-Rukeh, announced the total result of the election.
