The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has released the full lists of candidates for the 2020 Governorship Election in Ondo and Edo States.
According to the lists, while 17 male candidates have been cleared for Ondo States, 14 were cleared for Edo State, 12 males and two females, adding that 17 and 14 political parties are participating in Ondo and Edo States respectively.
However, the contests are obviously between the ruling party, All Progressive Congress (APC) and Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
In Ondo State, Governor Oluwarotimi Akeredolu of APC will be slugging it out with Eyitayo Olayinka Jegede of PDP and in Edo State, it is a straight battle between Osagie Andrew Ize-Iyamu of APC and Godwin Nogheghase Obaseki of PDP.
