Leader of Pan-Yoruba group, Oodua People’s Congress (OPC) and Aare Ona Kakanfo of Yorubaland, Gani Adams, has confirmed the information given to the Nigerian government by the US Government that members of the deadly Islamic State of Iraq and Syria (ISIS) and other international terrorists groups are already camping in the South West of Nigeria with plans to carry out deadly massacres on the Yoruba citizens.
Gani Adams confirmed this to the British Broadcasting Corporation (BBC) Yoruba.
The commander, US special operations command, Africa, Dagvin Anderson, had earlier, warned that Al-Qaeda and the Islamic State (IS) are silently taking over North West Nigeria and also expanding to other parts of West Africa.
He said that the terrorists are currently camping at Oke-Ogun Area of Oyo State with sophisticated mass destructive weapons intend to use in the region.
The Yoruba Generalissimo categorically stated that the terrorists are already in the Lusada thick forest with over 500 sophisticated bikes loaded with current fighting equipment that could destroy a nation.
The Are Ona Kakanfo, who spoke in Yoruba to BBC, said, “Are Ona Kakanfo does not just speak. Are Ona Kakanfo speaks the truth and what he knows to be true and correct. I don’t talk anyhow. ISIS is in Oke Ogun area of Oyo State. They are at Lusada forest. This is the area that the Federal Government wants to construct road that will link up with the North. After the construction of the road, it will only take three hours to get to Sokoto. Lusada is very close to Ogun State. These terrorists are in every parts of the forest around the area. They have uniform and camouflage. They have very expensive bikes and they are already studying the forest and other areas of the country”.
Adams called on the Federal Government to take this information very seriously and put in place what could be done to prevent the disaster the terrorists want to cause in the South West.
He also raised the issue of the allegations against Head of MURIC Organisation, Prof Isiaq Akintola, by the person monitoring terrorists in Mali that ISIS gave MURIC organisation money to recruit for them in the South West.
“It is a weighty allegation and the security agency should summon him. Nigeria’s Security Operatives didn’t invite him, though, he has denied it and the allegation has been laid to rest. We are scared of this. I am surprised the governors are silent”, he added.
Adams further called on the governors in the South West to come together as a matter of urgency to find a way to avoid this calamity.
Notable Yorubas, who spoke to PrimeStarsNews under anonymity, further confirmed the presence of terrorists in the South West.
They urged the leaders in the South West to disregard the position of the Nigeria Military over the matter, saying that the nation’s military has not been able to be on top of the security as claimed.
The Coordinator, Defence Media Operations (DMO), John Enenche, had once said in a press conference that, “Our attention was being drawn to the fact that terrorists from other zones are coming here. There is no doubt that we already have that challenge as far back as when the war in Libya was declared, and even in Iraq. Have we not captured foreigners among the people that have been terrorizing us in this country? Recently, we captured some in Niger state from our neighbouring country. Where are they coming from? Why do we have ISAWP here now? Was ISWAP indigenous to Nigeria? No! It’s just like a wake up call, which is readily welcome, All the security agencies have that at the back of their plan and they factor it in implementation. The general public should not be afraid of that at all. It’s not a new thing. it’s already in our schedule of activity”.
