A Ghanaian lady by birth, Jennifer, who married a Yoruba man has been detained at Ayinla Police Station in Ogun State, for stabbing her brother-in-law to death on Saturday February 5, 2022, at No 2, Apogidan Oyo Area of Jafa, Agbado in Ogun State.
It was gathered that Jennifer killed a younger brother to her husband over a minor misunderstanding.
According to the deceased’s grandmother, who is seeking for justice over the death of her grandson, Abeeb and Jennifer had a little quarrel over broken mirror, pointing out that after she had settled the misunderstanding, Jennifer took a knife and stabbed her brother-in-law on the neck.
Grandmother explained, “I was sleeping when my children came to wake me up and told me that Jennifer and Abeeb were fighting. Jennifer is a wife to my son. I jumped up and went to settle the fight. It was stated that Abeeb broke a mirror in the passage and Jennifer was not happy about that. They told me that Jennifer asked Abeeb why he broke a mirror on the floor, in the passage, when he knew that there are some little ones who could step on the broken mirror. She slapped Abeeb and Abeeb slapped her back. Afterward, I ordered Abeeb to leave the house so as to calm down the situation. Abeeb went and sat outside. While Abeeb was outside, Jennifer took knife and stabbed Abeeb on the neck. Immediately, Abeeb started asking for water, but I made sure that he was not given water. We rushed him to the hospital but on getting to the hospital, it was confirmed that Abeeb had died before he got to hospital.”
It was gathered that the case will be transferred to Ogun State Police Command, Elewe-Eran for further investigation.
