Less than 10 hours after the dethronement of the immediate past Emir of Kano, Alhaji Muhammad Sanusi ll, Kano State Government has appointed His Highness, Aminu Ado Bayero as his successor.
Until his appointment as the new Emir, Ado Bayero was the Emir of Bichi and son of late Emir Abdullahi Ado Bayero.
According to information gathered, the Secretary to the State Government, Alhaji Usman Alhaji, who made the announcement, stated that Bayero’s appointment was as a result of recommendations by the four kingmakers of Kano Emirate Council.
The four kingmakers are Alhaji Mutari Adnan, Sarkin Bai of Kano, Alhaji Abdullahi Sarki Yola, Alhaji Yusuf Labahani Cigari and Alhaji Bello Abubakar.
Alhaji pointed out that the new appointment is backed by Section 11 (1) of the Kano Emirate Council Law 2019.
However, it was gathered that shortly after the dethronement of the former Emir, the security operatives arrested him and whisked him to Nassarawa State.
