The kidnappers of the Dean, Faculty of Management Sciences, Kogi State University (KSU), Anyingba, Professor John Alabi, have demanded N20 million for his release.
According to information gathered, the gunmen put a call through to the wife of their victim and management of his university to demand a N20 million ransom.
Confirming the incident, the Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), in Kogi State, DSP William Aya, stated that the Command is trying its effort to ensure the release of the don unhurt.
Alabi was kidnapped around 6pm by a five-man gang in front of his house on Monday September 27, 2021.
The kidnappers whisked their victim away in a Mercedes Benz car.
According to the source: “The kidnappers ambushed Prof. Alabi with a Mercedez Benz car when he was about entering his residence.
“They wanted to take him away with his car, but due to the bad portion where they forced him to park his car they could not. The car was stuck. That was why they forced him into their own car.
“When they called, they told them that he is with them. And, if they want to see him alive, the family should pay N20 million. The family can’t afford such amount of money”.
