Evangelist Daniel Kolenda today charged Nigerian pastors and other church workers to desist from corruption, saying that it is wrong to steal from vulnerable church members.
Kolenda, the successor to the late Evangelist Reinhard Bonnke, said this in Ibadan while delivering a sermon at a 3-day crusade themed, “Great Gospel Crusade”.
Speaking passionately against corruption and giving reasons why corrupt people in Nigeria should repent and turn a new leaf, he pointed out that pastors and other workers of God are not insulated against the judgement of God, stressing, “Pastors, stop stealing”.
Liken Bishops, pastors and other workers in the churches to herbalists, he said, “When people go to Bishop for prayer, the bishop will demands for a year earnings of such people. They will collect what those people earn for a year. These people of God are so rich. We men and women of God do not charge money for healing. We do not charge money for preaching. Charging money for preaching or healing is what idol worshippers do. They charge people before they can make consultation for them but for us, the gift of God is free. Corruption in Ibadan must stop”.
Kolenda emphasised why corrupt leaders must change for good saying that when corrupt leaders stop stealing, God will lift up such a nation, praying that God will lift up Ibadan.
He urged against all forms of sins including prostitution, fornication, adultery and anything God hates
After the sermon, many people gave their lives to Christ.
