Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu of All Progressive Congress (APC), cast his vote in the 2023 Governorship and State Assembly Elections at his polling Unit located at Stephen pry school.
Shortly after voting, the governor urged all eligible voters in the state to come out and make their voices heard.
His words, “I have just exercised my right to vote as a resident of Lagos State. It’s an important responsibility we all share in building the future of our beloved state and country. I urge all eligible voters to come out and make their voices heard. Security officials are at every polling unit to ensure the safety of voters, let us cooperate with them and vote peacefully. Remember, our votes count, and every vote matters.
Gbadebo Rhodes-Vivour of the Labour Party (LP), also exercised his franchise at a polling unit located at Anifowose, Ikeja.
After casting his vote, he informed his supporters, “I just cast my vote at my Polling Unit in Anifowoshe, Ikeja. State Capture must end!! Every Lagosian’s voice, lives and properties matter Èkó E dìde!!”
The governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Lagos State, Abdul-Azeez Olajide Adediran also known as Jandor cast his vote around 11 am this morning in Lagos.
After voting, the PDP governorship candidate lamented what he described as widespread violence, harassment and intimidation of voters in the state calling on security agencies to live up to expectations in the ongoing elections.
His words, “We are getting reports from everywhere and we have seen widespread violence, voter intimidation which we expected anyway. We call on security agencies to live up to expectations. We are confident, we will win the entire 245 wards, so we are very optimistic we will win this election.”
