Oyo State Government has declared zero tolerance to land grabbing in the state, saying that total enforcement of the state’s land grabbing laws is not negotiable.
Commissioner for Lands, Housing and Urban Development, Olusegun Olayiwola revealed this while featuring on a live radio program in Ibadan.
Olayiwola explained that the task force committee on land grabbing inaugurated recently has swung into action to put an end to the activities of the land grabbers in the state.
The commissioner, who expressed concern over the connection of land grabbers with some top personalities in the country, said that the
necessary support would be given to the committee to change the narrative within the shortest possible time.

He appealed to residents of the state to report activities of land grabbers to the task force for necessary actions.
The commissioner hinted that efforts are ongoing for the realisation of land administration law of Oyo State that would contain land grabbing law, housing regulation enforcement law, private developer law and amongst others.
“Land grabbers now risk 10 years imprisonment without option of fine and minor offenders are to pay #500,000 or #200,000 depending on the offence committed. Land grabbing law has been established since 2016 but not enforced. Land grabbing has gone in the state, anyone having case on land matters should approach the court. The government will no longer tolerate hooligalism and thuggery of any form, henceforth”, he said.
