Ahead the local government election in Oyo State is scheduled to hold on Saturday May 22, 2021, the Chairman of the Oyo State Independent Electoral Commission (OYSIEC), Isiaka Olagunju (SAN), today announced that sensitive materials would be distributed 24 hours before the local government poll.
Olagunju, who stated this this at a press conference to intimate the media about the preparedness of the commission to organise an hitch free local government election said that the commission has begun the distribution of non-sensitive materials to its offices across the 33 local government areas of the state.
Assuring that election materials would get to their destinations as at when due stated that a web link and mobile hotlines would be made public for citizens’ response during the election.
According to him, the list of qualified candidates for the election would be released tomorrow adding that about 10,000 staff would be engaged in over 4,000 polling units across the state.
