The Oyo State Rural Water Supply and Sanitation Agency has commissioned borehole project for the use of residents in Alugbo Oluwo area of Erunmu Community, Egbeda Local, Government, Ibadan.
The borehole project was built and donated by Latter Day Saint Charities in collaboration with Oyo State Government. The water project would deliver about 10, 000 litres of water per day.
Commissioning the project yesterday, the Executive Governor of Oyo State, Engr. Seyi Makinde, represented by the Director General, Oyo State Liason Office, Abuja, Honourable Busari Olayemi stated that the water project was part of the dividend of Public Private Partnership in the state.
He charged the community to put the borehole to effective use and prevent wastage adding, “This is part of LDS contributions to provide quality access to consumption of potable water in our rural communities”.
Earlier, in his remarks the Program Coordinator, Latter Day Saints Charities, Bishop Christopher Onwumah said that the NGO would be responsible for the maintenance of the facility for the six months.
