Ahead 2023 Governorship Election in Oyo State, Governor Seyi Makinde has has urged the oppositions not to distract him with the second term bid saying it is early days yet.
Makinde, who stated this today in Ogbomosho, suggestively referring to All Progressive Congress (APC), which is the major opposition in the state as well as other political groups that may want to tackle him at the 2023 governorship election.
According to him, the same opposition politicians who have been posturing about 2023 were roundly rejected by the people in 2019, stressing that such politicians have nothing to offer by trying to distract him with talks about 2023.
He, however, urged the opposition to calm down because, according to him, it is too early to start talking about second term.
Makinde stated that even if he decided not to seek re-election in 2023, the state would not fall into the hands of charlatans anymore.
“Let me sound this: if I will not seek re-election, I am sure that Oyo State will never, again, be in the hands of charlatans. So, calm down”, he added.
