A trader, Hakeem Ganiu, on Thursday September 10, 2020 pleaded with the Mapo Customary Court in Ibadan to dissolve his six-year-old marriage to wife, Adeola on the account that the wife has been a pain in his neck.
Ganiu accused his wife of making life difficult for him as well as being a nightmare to him adding that the wife calls him a ritualist.
He explained to the court, “Adeola told all my friends, neighbours, and customers in Ogunpa market where I own a shop that I was making desperate effort to use her for money ritual. The immediate consequence is that people started running away from me and the news spread like wild fire throughout the market. My lord, Adeola also promised to handle me spiritually. As a result of that, I have many motor accidents and misfortunes. My life is no longer safe. Please separate us”.
Though Adeola did not object the divorce suit, she said that she had never blackmailed him, alleging that her husband has attempted to use her for money ritual on some occasions.
Chief Ademola Odunade, who led the presiding panel of three judges, dissolved the marriage on the account that the marriage has been irreparably damaged.
Granting the custody of their only child to Adeola, he ordered Ganiu to pay N5,000 monthly to Adeola as the child’s monthly upkeep.
