A man, identified as Abraham Adeniji has been arrested for defrauding a Chinese woman, Gao Shu Quin, goods worth N82, 803,550.00 .
According to a statement from Lagos Zonal Command of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), Adeniji was arrested for allegedly obtaining goods under false pretence and diversion of funds to the tune of N82, 803,550.00.
His arrest was sequel to a petition the commission received from the victim of the fraud, who claimed to have known the alleged fraudster since 2017.
According to her, the suspect deceived her into supplying him containers of textiles materials, believing he would remit the proceeds upon sale of the textile materials, but the suspect diverted the proceeds for personal use after sale.
EFCC assured that the suspect would soon be charged to court as soon as the investigation is completed.
