Police in Nasarawa State have arrested a 43 year old man over alleged rape of an 80 year old woman in Garaku, Kokona Local Government Area of the state.
Police Public Relations Officer in the state ASP Ramhan Nansel stated this in Lafia the Nasarawa State capital.
ASP Nansel said the suspect, Mallam Dan’asabe Eddo, a resident of Kundami Village of Garaku in Kokona Local Government Area of Nasarawa State went to the residence of the aged woman who stays alone in same Village and forcefully had canal knowledge of her.
He pointed out that upon receipt of complaints of the rape of the old woman, the Police operatives attached to Garaku Division immediately swung into action and got the suspect arrested.
ASP Nansel noted that following interrogation, the suspect admitted to have committed the crime and blamed it on handiwork of the devil.
The police Spokesperson further added that the state Commissioner of Police, Mr Adesina Soyemi had directed that the case be transferred to State Criminal Investigation Department in Lafia for exhaustive investigation.
