There is a massive turnout of protesters in Ibadan, capital of Oyo State, peacefully agitating and calling on the Federal Government to end an arm of the Nigeria Police, Special Anti-Robbery Squad (SARS).
The protesters, gathered at different areas of the ancient city, joined other Nigerians across the country to register their grievances against the activities of SARS.
The protesters are currently protesting at Iwo Road, Agbowo, Agodi, Bodija, Dugbe and Secretariat.
Sighted among the protesters are members of Nigerian Army, Civil Defence Corps and other security agents, with the police taking a back seat.
The protesters cannot hide their joy for the solidarity support received from the Nigerian army, who were on ground to organise the protest and ensure nothing goes wrong.
A protester said, “Even Soldiers are marching with protesters!! They are not throwing teargas, they are not shooting at protesters. This is the Nigeria we want!!”.
Celebrities including Toyin Abraham and Muyiwa Ademola also joined the protest.
