The Minister of Communications and Digital Economy, Isa Pantami, lost his 13-year-old daughter, Aisha, on Monday November 23, 2020.
The minister announced her passing on his Twitter handle on Monday evening. He did not disclose the cause of the teenager’s death.
He tweeted: “Inna lil Laahi wa inna ilaiHi Rajiun! My 13-year old daughter, Aishah Isa Ali (Amal) passed away just a moment ago. Due to some necessities, funeral prayer tomorrow at Annur Masjeed, Wuse 2, immediately after Zuhr prayer in sha Allah. May Allah forgive & be Merciful to her”.
Condolence messages have been pouring in to the Minister of Communications over the demise of his daughter. The Chief Whip of the Senate, Senator Orji Kalu, described the passing of the young girl as painful, and prayed to Allah to give the Pantami family strength and peace during the period of grief. He stated: “I commiserate with Minister of Communications and Digital Economy, Mallam Isa Ali Pantami, who lost his daughter, Aisha Isa Ali.
“Our prayers and thoughts are with the Minister and his family members during this sorrowful period.
“Aisha died in her prime but who are we to question Allah. May Allah forgive her shortcomings and grant her Al-Jannah Firdaus”.
Also, the Minister of Humanitarian Affairs, Disaster Management and Social Development Sadiya Umar Farouq expressed deep sadness over the loss: “Inna Lillahi wa inna ilayhi raji’un. I wish to express my deepest sympathy for the loss of your dear daughter. I am deeply saddened by her demise. I pray that Allah grants her jannatul firdaus. My deepest sympathy goes out to you and your family during this difficult period. May you find the comfort and strength to bear this irreparable loss”, the minister stated.
