The Secretary of North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO), Jens Stoltenberg has admonished the Taliban not to renege its pledge to the United States of Americans (U.S), which is expected to be a pre-condition for the alliance to commence withdrawal from Afghanistan.
According to NAN, the Taliban has made a peace deal with U.S, which is an opportunity to open negotiations among Afghans and achieve sustainable peace.
Stoltenberg noted, “We need to see a reduction in violence and avoid undermining the agreement. We will only reduce our presence if the Taliban adhere to the agreement they signed. We are ready to reduce if the Taliban meet the conditions from the agreement”.
