The Acting Comptroller-General of the Nigerian Correctional Services (NCS), Sylvester Nwakuche Ndidi, has noted that the NCS’s ongoing rehabilitation and reformation processes, is aimed to transform correctional facilities into centres of rehabilitation rather than mere confinement.
Ndidi said this when he paid a courtesy visit to the Inspector-General of Police IGP, Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun, at the Police Force Headquarters in Abuja.
According to a statement signed by the Force Public Relations Officer, Olumuyiwa Adejobi, the meeting between the IGP and NCS was centred on enhancing cooperation between the Nigeria Police Force and the NCS, with a focus on efficient crime prevention and strengthening the entire Nigerian Criminal Justice System.

Ndidi added that the NCS’s initiative to develop an updated criminal database to ensure a comprehensive record of offenders and their respective offenses, thereby enhancing the efficiency of the correctional system.
Responding, Egbetokun statede that the shared vision of both agencies was to ensure the overall effectiveness of the Criminal Justice System, pledging the commitment of the Force to working closely with the NCS towards achieving shared goals.
