The newly appointed Pro-Chancellor and Chairman, Governing Council, University of Ibadan (UI), John Odigie Oyegun has stressed the need to position the University to become one of the best in the world.
Oyegun, who had served as the first National Chairman of All Progressive Congress (APC), stated this today at a Special Meeting of Congregation held at Trenchard Hall and transmitted virtually.
The astute politician noted that all members of the University community should work together in ensuring that the University occupies an enviable position among the comity of universities so that every students and staff would be respected anywhere in the world.
He assured that the Governing Council, Senate and the Congregation would work together as a university community, stating that his work is simple in the sense that he is only expected to work with other members for the progress of the University.
He further pointed out the necessity of the institution’s management to promote town-gown relationship.
