Some irate Nigerians destroyed the Nigerian Embassy in Jakarta, Indonesia, yesterday, June 25, 2020 while protesting over the Nigerian government negligence of Nigerians residing in Indonesia.
The Nigerians were protesting at the Embassy over what they described as the brutality of Indonesia Immigration on Nigerians living in Indonesia which resulted into the death of a Nigerian man on June 25, 2020.
The man, identified as Chibuike from Uli Anambra State died as he fell from the ninth floor of a building in Kalapa garden, Nias apartment in Northern Jarkata, Indonesia while running from Immigration officers..
They alleged that the Immigration officers in Indonesia extort money from Nigerians and maltreat them to which the Nigerian Embassy did not show any concern.
Reacting to the incidence, the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Geoffery Onyeama, describe the actions of the protesters as absolutely deplorable and criminal.
Writing on his Twitter page, he said, “Absolutely deplorable and disgraceful criminal behaviour by Nigerian hooligans who without justification attacked the Nigerian Embassy in Jakarta, Indonesia today.
“Every effort will be made to identify them and see they are severely punished. Totally unacceptable behaviour”.
Happening now Nigeria embassy in Jakarta Indonesia is under attack this morning 25/6/2020 saying that the name Nigeria has brought disgrace to them as a people and other nationality laugh at them and when ever something happens to them no government to defend them.
