On Monday May 31, 2021, Nigeria recorded a surge in Coronavirus, as the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) declared 203 new cases of the virus, bringing the total confirmed cases in the country to 166,518.
The new cases were recorded in Benue-178, Lagos-10, Ondo-6, FCT-4, Kaduna-4 and Plateau-1.
According to NCDC, out of 166,518 confirmed cases in the country, 158,781 have been discharged, while 2,099 deaths have been recorded.
In the country, the four leading states with deaths causalities from Covid-19 are: Lagos, 439, Edo State, 185, Federal Capital Territory (FCT), 166 and Oyo State, 124.
As at the time of filing this report, Oyo and Plateau has only one case each on admission, while Abia, Imo and Ekiti states have two cases and Kogi, Cross Rivers, Sokoto and Taraba states have zero case.
