The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) has reported 593 new cases of coronavirus in Nigeria on August 19 2020, which brings the total of confirmed cases to 50,488,
The highest number of new cases were recorded in Plateau with 186, followed by Lagos with 172 cases and the Federal Capital territory, Abuja with 62 cases.
The others are: Oyo-27, Delta-25, Rivers-20, Ondo-19, Edo-18, Kaduna-17, Enugu-12, Akwa Ibom-10, Ogun-7, Abia-6, Gombe-6, Kano-3 and Osun-3.
According to the NCDC, out of the 50,488 confirmed cases, 37,304 patients have been discharged, while 985 deaths were recorded.
