There was jubilation across Nigeria as some Nigerians hit the streets to celebrate the victory Super Eagles record against Bafana Bafana in the ongoing Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON 2023), with the match ending 4-2.
Some Nigerians, of which the majority did not wear clothes were seen on convoys in motorcycles and different vehicles singing and dancing to different beats of different drums and other musical instruments.
Some were seen on storey buildings jubilating.
Among the jubilant is Governor Ademola Adeleke of Osun State who led some people dancing in his office.
Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu was proud of the national team for qualifying Nigeria for the final of the tournament.
He said, “We did it!!!! So proud of our Super Eagles for finding that extra tenacity to push through. From Nwabali with the in-match and penalty heroics to Ekong to Osimhen for taking the initiative to help us score in the match and to the silent hero, Coach José Peseiro, everyone dug deep to give us this one. Off to the finals and by God’s grace the Cup.
