A serving Nigerian Minister of Interior and former Governor of the State of Osun, Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola has been harassed, embarrassed and intimidated in an unknown eatery in the United States of America (USA), by an unidentified Yoruba man living in America.
According to a video trending online, the Nigerian-American man spotted Aregbesola at a eatery and went to confront him saying that he could identify him as ‘Aregbesola’.
Aregbesola is currently in America.
Aregbesola confirmed to the man like a gentleman and offered him a seat beside him so that they could discuss whatever he wanted saying, “What do you want?”
The man replied that he did not want anything and afterwards, Aregbesola told him to stop videoing him without permission from him as well as allowing him to eat his food.
This drew the anger of the man and he started abusing and insulting Aregbesola, saying that America is a country where anybody has the right to do what he or she likes stressing that he has the right to do anything as an American.
While Aregbesola insisted that the man could not video him, he continued to abuse the minister.
This is the conversation between the man and the minister:
The Man: Is this Areggbesola? He just said hello and he left. Are you Aregbesola?
And he went to the minister and asked again:
The Man: Are you Aregbesola?
Aregbesola: Come, who are you.
The Man: Are you Aregbesola?
Aregbesola: Come, who are you?
The Man: I am a Nigerian
Aregbesola: What do you want?
The Man: I don’t want anything. I saw you and I think I recognise you.
Aregbesola: Sit down.
The Man: No, no, no. Your excellency, Ebi lo gbe mi wa si ibi bayi (I came here because I am hungry)
Aregbesola: Stop recording me. You can’t record me.
The Man: You can’t touch me. This is America. This is not Nigeria. I am an American. This is not Nigeria. You can’t just take my phone. This is America.
Aregbesola: You can’t intrude into my privacy.
The Man: You can’t tell me that. This is America. This is a free state. This is a free country. I can do what I like in America. Biden can’t tell me if I want to record Biden. If you, Aregbesola touch me I will sue you. This is America. You can’t touch me. This is America. You are alive, you can’t touch me.
Aregbesola: You can’t record me without my authority.
The Man: Biden can’t tell me that. This is America. This is not Nigeria ti e ti n se osi (This is not Nigeria where you do nonsense).
