Nigerian artiste, Habeeb Okikiola popularly known as Portable is again in the news for the wrong reasons as he was seen in a viral video on social media violently assaulting his signee identified as Manny Monie for allegedly using another distributor.
In a part of the video, Portable was captured hitting his signee siting on the floor in the head, face, neck and other sensitive parts of the body.
He alleged that Monie paid N700,000 to him to sign to his record label and afterward he proved to be ungrateful for contracting music distributors without his knowledge.
In the video, Portable was heard as he continues to hit the helpless signee saying, “You said that I lodge you in the bush and you are misbehaving. You will never make it in life. When you want to know me, my manager collected N700,000 from you. I help you. You are a small boy. You are a Yahoo boy. I made you a singer. Why are you blackmailing me? You are under me and I signed you under me. Our deal was documented. Why are you using two distributors?”
Monie refuted the allegation Portable levelled against him.
Speaking in pidgin, Monie said, “I no know wetin I do am, he just dey tell me sey I dey ungrateful. My brother bought me studio set. I was the one that own the studio (set) that Portable is using. He seized my phone since morning.”
He said he had a dream that some people wants to kill him that we should give him space and I said that I should carry my studio (set) to use till he call us back and he refused that he wants to use the studio (set) to replace the help he did for me.
However, people have condemned Portable for assaulting Monie asking for his arrest. These are some of the comments:
