The Federal Executive Council (FEC), presided over by Vice President Yemi Osinbajo, today, approved 14 day paternity leave for federal government workers with immediate effect.
The Head of Civil Service of the federation, Dr Folasade Yemi-Esan revealed this while briefing state correspondents at the end of the weekly meeting.
According to Yemi-Esan, the paternity leave would allow fathers to properly bond with their newborn babies or adopted children.
She said it is important for the newborn or adopted baby to properly bond with their fathers at the early stage.
