Renowned Nigerian gospel singer, songwriter, and evangelist, Joseph Adebayo Adelakun, popularly known as Ayewa, has spoken out against the state of governance in Nigeria, describing President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s administration as troubled and lacking in humanity.
Adelakun made these remarks through a song rendition during the 57th birthday celebration of Yinka Ayefele, a singer and owner of the Ibadan-based Fresh FM radio station.
Performing one of his most popular songs, the gospel singer lamented that no administration, whether military or civilian, has ever brought true peace to Nigeria or served the people in the way they deserve.
He stressed that only the government of Jesus Christ can bring the desired peace to humanity.
Calling for divine intervention, he sang: “Jesus Christ, come quickly. It is only Jesus Christ that can repair the world. Despite the daily enactment of laws, there is no peace in the world. During the military government, there was no peace in Nigeria. During the civilian government, there is no peace in Nigeria. As Baba Tinubu is ruling Nigeria, Nigerians are crying…”
His performance resonated with many in attendance, reflecting the frustrations of citizens who continue to face economic and social hardships.
