The National Universities Commission (NUC) has approved an additional seven new academic programmes for Babcock University, one of the nation’s faith-based universities.
The new courses, which will be run on a full-time basis, are B.Sc. Architecture, B. Sc. Estate Management, B. Eng. Electrical and Electronics, B.Eng. Mechanical Engineering, B. Eng. Civil Engineering, B. Eng. Computer Engineering and PGD and M. Sc. Social Work.
According to a letter from NUC signed by its Director of Academic Planning, Dr N.B. Saliu to the institution’s Vice Chancellor, the programmes approved t be run at undergraduate and postgraduate are mandated to be run in the main campus of the University with effect from 2022/2023 academic session.
The letter stated, “I am to add that the approval does not cover the part-time mode of the programmes.”
“The programmes shall bear only the approved title and nomenclature and any change will require the approval of the commission. The University is enjoined to provide adequate human and material resources for the development and growth of the approved programmes”, the letter added.
