The National Universities Commission (NUC), has granted full accreditation to 27 undergraduate programmes of the University of Ibadan (UI), in addition to the already fully accredited courses offered by the nation’s Premier University.
This was contained in a letter from the office of the Executive Secretary of the NUC, Professor Abubakar Rasheed to the institution’s Vice Chancellor, Professor Kayode O. Adebowale.
The fully accredited courses include German; Igbo; Linguistics; Music; Philosophy and Theatre Arts from the Faculty of Arts, Human Nutrition and Dietetics; Physiology; Physiotherapy; and Environmental Health Science from the Faculty of Basic Medical Sciences, Computer Science and Geology from the Faculty of Science and Architecture from the Faculty of Environmental Design and Management.
Other courses that were given full accreditation are Civil Engineering; Food Technology; Industrial and Production Engineering and Wood Products Engineering from the Faculty of Technology, Veterinary Medicine from the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, and Early Childhood Education; Arabic Education; Economics Education; Islamic Studies; Health Education; and Human Kinetics from the Faculty of Education.
