The Executive Secretary of the National Universities Commission (NUC) has directed that all Nigerian Universities should be closed down from Monday 23 March 2020 for a period of one month.
According to a circular dated 20 March, 2020 and addressed to all Vice Chancellors of Nigerian Universities, this directive was part of measures to contain and prevent the spread of the coronavirus (Covid-19) throughout the country.
The circular, which was signed by the Deputy Executive Secretary (Academic), Dr Suleiman Ramon-Yusuf, requested the vice-chancellors to ensure immediate compliance.
