The Management of Obafemi Awolowo University (OAU), Ile-Ife has expelled nine students and suspended 19 found culpable of various offences which centered on the breaching of matriculation oath.
According to a statement signed by the institution’s Registrar, the nine students expelled were found guilty of unlawful alteration of marks.
The students are Olanite Pelumi Philip, Microbiology,Akinola Barnabas Olajide, Computer Science and Engineering, Babatunde Veronica, Animal Science, Olapade Sesan David, Microbiology, Agbeja Oluwatobi Samuel, Microbiology, Yusuf Usman Oyindamola, Building, Aliyu Ezekiel, Computer Science, Emmanuel Godwin Julius, Computer Science and Engineering, Adelakun Ezekiel Ayobami, Computer Science and Engineering.
However, Oseni Sakariyau Oluwadamilare, Computer Science and Engineering, who is in this category was lucky not to have been expelled but suspended for four semesters.
The students suspended for the period ranging from two to four years for involving in examination mal-practices are Afolabi Anuoluwapo Abey, Economics, Ogundele Damilola George, Pharmacy, Sikiru Lateef Ayinde, Computer Science and Engineering, Adegoke Babatunde, Mechanical Engineering, Akindele Oluwabunmi Gloria, English, Akande Mervelous Oluwatosin, Foreign Language, Obisesan Oluwatobiloba, Foreign Language, Keji Dolapo Mary, Biochemistry, Otumunye Chukwuma, Botany, and Isarinde Isaiah Akinlolu, Economics.
Also suspended for belonging to unlawful society are Oyekwusi Praise Chenemeren, Arts and Social Sciences, Ojo Abiodun Olamide, Microbiology, Ude John, Arts and Social Science, Oladoye Tobi Olakunmi, English, Davies Jesulayomi, English, Ayeyi Damilola, English, Agbola Olanrewaju, Management and Accounting, and Olaseni Olamide O., Philosophy.
