The newly appointed Director General, Kwara State Signage and Advertisement Agency (KWASAA), Mr Omotayo Olorunshola has assured that his administration would increase his agency’s revenue generation by 50 per cent within the first year of his administration.
Olorunshola, who intends to carry out a total restructuring of the Agency and make it 21st century compliant, said that the revenue generation of the Agency would be 100 per cent increase in comparison to the revenue generated inherited.
The new DG, who said this on Wednesday May 5, 2021, when he officially resumed, said, “I intend to work assiduously to ensure increase in the revenue generation for the state”.
He solicited for the support of all the stakeholders by paying the signage levies on time, urging them to obtain necessary permit from the agency before citing their signage structures.
“Stop the indiscriminate mounting of outdoor advertisement structures. Stop the indiscriminate vandalisation of outdoor advertisement structures”, he warned.
He also appealed to the state government to come to the aid of the agency.
Highlighting some of the challenges the Agency is facing to include inadequately trained manpower, lack of equipment like vehicles, conducive office space and funds, the DG stated that effective and efficient staff would always be rewarded.
Olorunshola, whose appointment took effect from April 28, 2021 was the immediate past Special Adviser and DG Oyo State Signage and Advertisement Agency under the administration of late Senator Abiola Ajimobi.
He is an indigene of Atiran in Ifelodun Local Government Area of Kwara State.
A member of Advertising Practitioners Council of Nigeria (APCON) and National Institute of Marketing of Nigeria (NIMN), Olorunshola holds a Master Degree in Communication and Language Art from the University of Ibadan (UI).
